Adult speech difficulties are common and come in many forms including stuttering, dysarthria (a problem with motor control of speech), and articulation difficulties. This can cause a person to not want to communicate and even become withdrawn emotionally. However, with speech therapy and some strategies many adults can improve their speech and communication skills. This allows the individual to want to communicate, boosting morale and their purpose in life.
We offer private speech therapy sessions to our clients. Our purpose is to enable a person to improve their communication skills following an injury or illness. If someone is having any of the following difficulties they should seek the aid of a speech therapist. Here are a few areas Speech Therapy focuses on:
Difficulty expressing thoughts or identifying common objects or people
Difficulty understanding written and spoken language
